1. Is there anything you'd like (or not like) for Sherlock to read based on observation of your character?

I would actually love for Sherlock to be able to read Kenshin completely, for all the effort he puts into appearing a certain way that isn't much like him at all.

Most obvious about Kenshin's appearance is that he's quite short at only 5'2" and, despite being Japanese, has red hair and light eyes (actually, iiiif you're interested here's a one-minute thing because this is both exactly how he probably looks non-animu style and gives a very quick and accurate idea of his life). There's also the X-shaped scar on his cheek.

Because he's so very small and almost feminine in appearance, this lends to Kenshin's goal of appearing as least dangerous as possible. He'll try to hold himself loosely, unassuming, and speaks very formally (in ways that don't translate exactly well into English but I'll attempt to carry over). He will also at times act completely clueless and ridiculous, but Kenshin is actually very calculating and is well aware of everything he's doing—Sherlock may pick up on this (once he got whacked in the back of a head with a teacup, and though he let himself look silly for it, it was revealed later that he let himself be hit because if he'd moved it would have hit a girl in the face).

Sherlock's already noticed his not!katana. Someone acting as laid back as he does is constantly armed... His hands will be calloused, showing they're well used to holding and using it. His body, though small, has the muscle for swordsmanship and scars to accompany the one on his face.
Although Kenshin is twenty-eight he looks like he's a lot younger (running gag in canon, hurr). If Kenshin gives him the year he's from in Japan, Sherlock might guess he was a soldier in the Bakumatsu (unless he's deleted Japanese history like the solar system...)? So then he has to be older than he looks B( Swords were also outlawed and the samurai class disbanded after 1868, so depending on how well you say Sherlock knows Japanese history he can make of Kenshin's still carrying one as he will. |D

Kenshin's a realist who wants to be an idealist, it works don't question it, can ramble for some time about the sanctity of life and yet that humanity sucks. There might be some guilt/personal experience if he starts talking about how killing is wrong.

Kenshin's a genuinely good guy, but Sherlock could probably see at least that there's something about him that he hides, so whatever he does with that /o/ Also he wears a simple kimono-and-hakama outfit, so nothing fancy.
